ABSTRACT
The effect of the increase of manganese on the reduction of the probability of cracking in sub-powder welding of microalloy steels has been proven, but this increase should not cause undesirable changes in the metallurgical properties and, consequently, the mechanical properties of the weld metal. Therefore, since the amount of manganese in the process of welding is controlled by parameters such as base metal, welded wire and powdered powder, and the optimum value for it, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of welded manganese content on mechanical properties, microstructure and strength It was hot to leave hot metal. In this regard, wire of 0 welds with three specified values of manganese was selected and welding was initially carried out under laboratory conditions in accordance with the requirements of EN 756 and EN 760, and then under the practical conditions for the production of spiral pipelines with X70 material and 19/8 mm thickness, according to the requirements of the IPS and API 5L standards. . The results of the metallography of the samples by light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that increasing the amount of manganese in the weld wire and consequently the welding metal reduced the grain size of all available phases (needle ferrite, primary ferrite and ferrite with regular second phase) In addition, this increase reduces the amount of primary ferrite (mainly gradient boundary factor) and ferrite with regular second phase in exchange for an increase in the amount of needle ferrite. The results of mechanical properties tests showed that increasing the amount of manganese increases the strength and hardness of the welding metal, but the impact strength and the percentage increase in the length of the welding metal after the optimal amount obtained by welding with 1.11% manganese, Reduced toughness in the highest amount of manganese to increase stiffness and the formation of martensite islands and boundary carbides were attributed to the point of needle ferrite grains.
INTRODUCTION
Pipelines are the most important method of transferring oil and gas in the land. Among the methods used to produce these pipes, the spiral method is used for several reasons such as the use of different width sheets for the production of fixed diameter pipes and vice versa, the need for cold pipe sizes (Cold (Expand) and the possibility of producing very high diameter pipes and …).
