Abstract
The agglomeration fo nanoscaled powders in general decreases the density of greean bodies pressed form those nano powders. depending on the strength and morphology of the agglomerates defferent densities can be achived. In this research, the effect of different additives on manufacturing of alumina – zirconia nanocomposites were investigated. The composites were produced from nano powders by pressurless sintering method. The hard and soft agglomerates in primary powders were removed by ball milling, magnetic stirring, and ultrasonic vibrations. In order to prevent reagglomerating, different additives (PCAs) such as urea, ethanolamine, anthrachinon, and dextrose were used and their effects on green density were investigated. The effects of additives on microstructure and relative density of sintered samples were investigated too. The results show that urea increased green density and improved microstructure, density, and hardness of sinter forged samples in comparison with other additives.
