ABSTRACT
Traffic signal prediction is difficult due to noise and high immaturity. One of the main advantages of the theory of evidence is to deal with uncertain and vague information. On the other hand, the main and important capability of a fuzzy modeling is solving uncertain problems. The idea of using the concepts of evidence theory in fuzzy modeling is of interest to many researchers. In this paper, with a new perspective, a fuzzy system based on evidence theory has been used to predict traffic signals. In the Talei model, each fuzzy rule is a Davis-Schaffer belief structure. In a given system, each fuzzy system rule is used as a control. To improve performance, noise cancellation using wavelet transform has also been used. Experimental results suggest the success of the proposed method.
INTRODUCTION
The increasing number of cars at the city level has made prediction and traffic control one of the research topics. Typically, traffic control uses methods such as installing traffic lights, sending radio messages, traffic restrictions, and more. The methods used to control traffic largely depend on the number of vehicles available on the respective routes, so having a prediction (estimate) of the number of vehicles entering a path at a later date can be very useful. Be Due to the human involvement in the automobile traffic phenomenon, it is not possible to propose specific rules for the production of traffic signals. For this reason, traffic signals are usually considered to be a random phenomenon with high instability and high noise levels. 1979 Since then, for the short-term forecasting of traffic, various methods such as the fixed model, linear model, NPR, GML, ARIMA neural network, fuzzy neural network have been used. In addition to the above-mentioned methods for predicting traffic signals, the use of a Schafer fuzzy-dummy model is also proposed to predict traffic signals.
