ABSTRACT
Occurrences such as mechanical damage due to fishing gear or anchor handling in underwater pipelines or the handling of throwing objects, such as drilling tools, as well as equipment installed near marine platforms can cause damage to the pipeline. Therefore, the investigation of pipeline responses to these events is required. In this paper, the 3D simulation of the problem in the ABAQUS software environment is performed and after validation of the model, the influence of parameters such as problem geometry, loading direction, material hardening, substrate flexibility and inlet pressure in the pipe response to the load The incident has been investigated.
INTRODUCTION
The growing trend for energy and development in the construction and use of oil and gas resources in recent decades has led to the development of the use of pipelines for oil products. Various events can occur for pipelines causing major damage to them. In pipelines under the sea, mechanical collisions with fishing gear or anchor can cause damage to the pipeline. Also, near offshore platforms, pipelines can be exposed to objects thrown like drilling tools and equipment to be installed. The response of oil and gas pipelines under such side loads is of great importance as it can cause serious and sudden damage. Extensions in pipelines may result in the repair or replacement of pipe pieces due to the risk of failure of fatigue against loads Or due to operational needs such as monitoring. Hence, in order to properly assess the risk of inclining, there is a need for simple methods to predict the amount of inclination against a given lateral load. The DNV also publishes a number of guidelines and guidelines for the impact of falling objects on the pipeline and loads incurred by fishing operations, which highlights the importance of the issue.
