ABSTRACT
Nowadays, the aggregate of aggregates for achieving high quality concrete is of interest to most researchers. For this, the distribution of cement particle size plays an important role in aggregating sticky materials. In this research, the ideal distribution of concrete particle size with the combination of aggregates (with optimal granulation) and super fine quartz powder as a cementitious filler has been used. Based on optimal cement content, optimal filler size and optimal aggregate granulation, which is the ideal distribution curve for extracted concrete particles, concrete specimens were made using microsilica and nanosilica in a mixing design. After treatment, samples were tested for compressive strength and water absorption and the results were recorded. The results suggest the construction of concrete with extremely high compressive strength using minimal cement. In this research, the resistance of samples measuring 15 cm, with 325 kg of cement containing microsilica, equaled to 751 kg / cm2, which has a very high compressive strength compared to ordinary concrete. The water absorption (24 hours) of this sample was 54%, which indicates a very low porosity compared to conventional concrete.
INTRODUCTION
Concrete is one of the most used and durable building materials today. Cost-effectiveness, the availability of abundant material resources, environmental compatibility and optimal resistance are among the reasons for the increasing use of this material. Concrete consists of two different phases: hydrated cement (mortar phase) and rock aggregate (aggregate phase). The common ground between these two phases, which is referred to as the concrete transmission area, is so important that this phase can be described as the third phase of concrete. Due to the fact that aggregates make up about 60 to 90 percent of the concrete volume, a suitable choice of aggregate type and its gradation will affect the main properties of the concrete, such as resistance, permeability, durability and concrete performance. In order to achieve high density and low permeability concrete, various factors such as aggregate grading, cement consumption and other additives and materials used must be fully tested and the optimal amount of use should be determined.
