ABSTRACT
The present study evaluates various types of failures at different speeds, based on the mechanical-experimental (M-E) method in the pavement structure of the AASHTO test. In this study, firstly, the proposed pavement structure was modeled using KENLAYER software and the critical reactions of the road structure were calculated. For analyzes, behavioral characteristics of asphalt as viscoelastic and other layers were assumed to be elastic, and critical stresses and stresses on the body were calculated under four different axles of two, four, tandem and treadmill. The results showed that for different axes in a weight range, the increase or decrease of speed and the duration of the loading cycle altered the type and amount of damage caused at the road surface, and the external value of the weight range, the variation in speed or the duration of the loading cycle has an effect on the type of failure And only changes the magnitude of the damage observed at the surface of the pavement. These studies have shown that in order to prevent the reduction of PSI and the level of service of the pavement, the speed range of 80 to 120 km / h is a suitable area in which the probability of occurrence of pavement roughness is less and occurring. Cracking is more.
INTRODUCTION
Failure is an important factor in pavement design. Failure to adequately identify the factors that could lead to the destruction of defects, complete failure of the pavement. In the method, AASHTO, the increase in layer thickness is a common method for reducing pavement damage, while according to new methods, this is not the only solution. This approach, based on the PSI (Current Pavement Service Indicator), takes into account the general pavement situation. The main limitation is the experimental nature of the decision making and design process. In this method, the effective parameters on the pavement design, depending on the pavement environment, are considered during the continuous tests, and therefore the relations used in this method are true only in the places with given assumptions and can not be used for other pavements. . In this regard, various studies have been done in the world about the effects of various parameters and factors of HTO designed design. These include the 2005 study. In this research, the susceptibility of steady-state and fatigue transformation models to different parameters in flexural pavements designed by AASHTO method was investigated.
