ABSTRACT
In this research, the effect of using different levels of cement grade on compressive strength, volumetric absorption and water absorption in concrete with a constant water to cement ratio has been investigated. Water and cement ratios were 0.45, 0.4 and 0.5, each of which was made up of four mixtures of cements, 300 400 350 and 450 kg / m3. In the manufacture of mixtures, Portland cement type 2 and aggregates with a maximum size of 19 mm were used. The results of the experiments show that in a constant water-to-cement ratio, the reduction of the cement content in the mixture from 450 to 350 kg / m3 increases the compressive strength and decreases the volume and volume of water absorption in concrete. Similar to these results, an increase in the grade of cement would be from 300 to 350 kg / m3. With this, the decrease of water absorption in this case is low in the water to cement ratio of 0/45 and 0/5.
INTRODUCTION
Concrete performance is generally known for its durability and durability. Different causes of burnout, such as corrosion of buried bars in concrete due to carbonation or chloride ionization, melting and freezing, sulfate invasion, alkaline reaction of aggregates, and the like, endanger the performance of these structures. Using inappropriate materials or inappropriate design, inadequate design, inadequate quality control, improper processing, etc., reduces service life of the structures, or leads to imposing expensive repairs with high economic costs. The durability and durability properties of concrete are directly influenced by the number, type, size and distribution of pore percentages in cement pulp, aggregate and the common surface between cement pulp and aggregate. On the other hand, the structure of the pores and their distribution in concrete are influenced by several factors, one of which is the grade of the existing cement in the mixture. If the cement in the mixture is insufficient, the concrete will not be properly condensed, and the honeycomb tissue will be created with other surface imperfections, which will facilitate the passage of the damaging agents into it. On the other hand, the high amount of cement with increasing volume of cement paste, which is the most important porosity factor in concrete, increases the total volume of pores in concrete. Therefore, cement grade plays a very important role in concrete performance. In this study, its effect on concrete absorption resistance has been studied.
