ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate the hardness and comparison of microstructure and the residual austenite value of T4 (Gigant 77) tool steels in case of changing the parameters of austenite time, quenching medium and time of application of samples at high operating temperature and, finally, determining the best condition for In terms of achieving the maximum hardness (minimum residual austenite) and the best microstructure. For this purpose, the samples were first austenitized at 1570 ° C for 15 and 40 minutes, then quenched in air, water and oil in air, then at 5, 10 and 20 hours in liquid ionization. The results of the studies showed that, by performing intense cryopulmonary operations on hard steel T4 tools, the stiffness of the samples rises from 1 to 7 cluster and also the microstructure is more uniform. The results improve with increasing time of this operation. In summary, samples that, after hardening of more residual austenite, increased the hardness after severe cold weather operations.
INTRODUCTION
The hardener steels are high-alloy steels that contain a large amount of strong carbide elements such as tungsten, vanadium, chromium and molybdenum, since the structure of these steels after conventional heat treatment involves a large amount of alloys, residual austenite and mercantilists. These steels have a great deal of application in the machining industry, and due to the high cost of cutting shearing and the cost-free replacement of them during service, it is better to improve the mechanical properties of these steels and thus increase the useful life of these steels. Steel T4 is one of the sharp steel steels due to having a high amount of alloying elements with low MS and Mf temperatures. Therefore, after performing the correct heat treatment on this steel, the austenite transformation to martensite is not completely performed and there is always a significant amount We will have austenite at room temperature. The presence of residual residue in the tool, in addition to reducing the hardness and abrasion resistance of the tool, makes the steel insignificantly unstable, and even during the tool service, austenite can be converted into martensite, and when it is converted to martensite, it is about 4% volumetric expansion It may cause changes to the form or failure of the tool during service.
