ABSTRACT
Man acts directly on the rivers by interfering with the natural functions of the rivers, such as carrying out construction activities such as damming and water diversion. One of the destructive activities imposed on the rivers is the extraction of sand and sand from their bedrock for development activities. The dependence of the construction activities and development of countries on the river bed sand has caused the natural balance of the rivers and has resulted in various consequences such as changes in the hydraulic and hydrological conditions of the stream, as well as the unplanned harvesting of materials Getting its position may lead to rapid river displacement, landslides and landslides, destruction of water structures, and consequent social and economic problems. In this research, in temporal and spatial variations of the cavity under experimental conditions, under different flow conditions, the flow has been investigated. After preparing the flume bed and leveling it on the slope, the flume was filled with water, then a rectangular hollow was created to the desired dimensions in the bed, and the bed changes were investigated by setting the flow of water within the flume. Due to the establishment of flow, erosion in the bedding of the flume and sedimentation is deposited in the upper wall of the cavity. At the same time, due to the flow of sediment transport capacity, the erosion of the lower wall of the cavity causes the cavity to move up and down. This research was carried out in 12 different test conditions, and in each series, one of the parameters of the length or depth of the cavity has changed. In each experiment, water and bed profiles along the flume axis were measured at different times. Substrate topography in cavity range was also measured at different times. Based on the results of the experiments, an empirical formula is presented to calculate the maximum scour depth and the progress of the cavity in time. Formulas presented with laboratory data are verified. The results are quite satisfactory.
