ABSTRACT
In this study corrosion of simple reinforced concrete (without dentin) in concrete has been evaluated. For this purpose, cube samples were prepared with dimensions of 7 × 7 × 7 cm. Concrete mixing plan used included 42% 6% sand, 34% broken gravel, 14.9% cement type 2 and 8.5% water. In order to investigate the corrosion behavior of reinforced concrete, samples prepared in vacuo were immersed in 3.5 parts by weight of sodium chloride over different periods of time. The tests performed to investigate the steel corrosion behavior of concrete in this study include TOEFL polarization corrosion test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results of the TOEFL and EIS polarization tests showed that by placing the concrete in a solution of 3.5 wt% sodium chloride gradually, after 14 days, the water absorption by concrete and the penetration of the ions into the concrete increased the rate of corrosion, which caused the filling Concrete porosity is caused by corrosion products and the formation of a compressive film on the surface of concrete steel, and then the reduction of corrosion rate, as well as increasing the constancy of the transfer of the charge, and consequently reducing the penetration of the invading ions into the concrete will be observed.
INTRODUCTION
Concrete today is used as one of the best and most used building materials in various types of structures. Valuable benefits such as ease of access to raw materials, the possibility of creating various shapes by using molds of the required shape, resistance to fire, resistance to static and dynamic loads, proper durability, compatibility with environmental conditions The environmental and its undesirable effects on the environment and low maintenance costs over the life of the structure, has stabilized the position of concrete as one of the best construction materials in the world. Several factors can interfere with the proper service of a concrete structure over its useful life. External factors due to the surrounding environment or internal factors in concrete can reduce concrete durability. These factors can be divided into three physical, mechanical and chemical groups. Physical factors such as freezing, mechanical factors such as wear and chemical agents such as sulfate attack, acids and corrosion of reinforcement.
