ABSTRACT
In this research, an artificial neural network (ANN) approach with multilayer perceptron structure was used to predict the ratio of the depth of the secondary and the relative length of the divergent hydraulic jump in a rectangular cross-section with a reverse slope, due to the impossibility of explicit theory to estimate mutation parameters from particular states And complex hydraulic jumps are used. For this purpose, experiments have been carried out on the experimental model of relaxation basin and in the range of divergent angles (0, 7, 5, 3 and 10) and inferior slopes (0, 5/6, 4/1, 2/3 and 8) and the parameters The main mutations included secondary depth, mutation length and relative energy loss. A total of 152 laboratory data sets including secondary depth and mutation length were used in the range of divergence angles and floor slopes for training and verifying the neural network. In the development of the ANN, ten layered perceptron structures, with a number of hidden layers and different neurons, were evaluated. In each network design, the coefficients of analysis (R2) and the mean squared error (RMSE) were calculated. Finally, the optimal models for generating the secondary depth ratio (y2 / y1) and the relative length of the mutation (Lj / y1) were constructed with two layers of hidden and eight neurons in each layer respectively, each of which had the parameters mentioned, R2, respectively 993 and 996/0 and RMSE were 1335/13 and 1241/1, respectively. The high values obtained for R2 in each case indicate the close association between the output values of the ANN model and the experimental data.
INTRODUCTION
At the end of structures such as dams, rivers, waterfalls and valves overflow, due to the high flow velocity, there is a need for a structure to deplete and reduce the flow energy in order to prevent erosion and destruction of downstream plants. Relaxed pools are one of the most commonly used structures for decaying energy. In these ponds, the energy of the flow is amortized by the formation of a hydraulic jump and the flow of the supercritical regime from the subcritical regime. In the design of relaxation ponds, secondary depth and hydraulic jump length are important parameters that, with the knowledge of the parameters mentioned, can be the bottom of the bed, design the depth of the ponds of relaxation. In the case of ordinary hydraulic jumps in rectangular sections, the depth of secondary with the theory relations derived from continuity and momentum laws can be calculated and the length of the mutation is estimated by equations derived from empirical results. However, prediction of hydraulic jump characteristics in non-rectangular sections and especially in divergent ponds has a particular complexity and is often associated with simplifying assumptions.
