ABSTRACT
In this study, the relationship between shear wave velocity and standard penetration index in alluvial deposits of Mashhad city has been investigated. In this regard, seismic data and data from geotechnical studies have been used. For this purpose, the results of drilling 12 borehole loops have been investigated and with the results of the principle of 140 in-well experiments have been combined in the route of the project of two lines of urban trains in Mashhad. Then, by combining the results of seismic data and geotechnical data and performing on-site tests in drilled boreholes, the proposed table for classification of soil based on shear wave velocity and numbers obtained from the standard penetration test was proposed in the study area. Is presented. The results of this study can be used to compare the standard penetration test in drilled boreholes and the shear wave velocity obtained from the in-well test and to establish a correlation between the standard penetration and shear wave velocity, indicating that the shear wave velocity is directly related to increasing depth And the standard penetration number.
INTRODUCTION
In geotechnical studies and alluvial dynamic analysis, estimating the velocity of seismic waves is of great importance. The velocity of the waves in the earth’s layers is directly related to density, effective tens and its saturation percent. The classification of different soils based on the texture and shear velocity is one of the most important factors in the preparationGeotechnical profiles are considered seismic. The shear modulus or shear wave velocity of the soil layers is one of the most important factors for the dynamic analysis of alluvial deposits. The soil shear modulus can be calculated using shear wave velocity and soil mass density. Since laboratory and field methods based on the measurement of the modulus or the shear wave velocity are costly, researchers have always been seeking ways to estimate shear wave velocity indirectly. One method is to estimate shear wave velocity based on the standard penetration test results. In most seismic design standards, including the standard, 2800 average shear velocity of the soil layers is the basis for classifying the type of land. In this study, the relationship between shear wave velocity and standard penetration number in alluvial sediments of Mashhad city has been investigated. In this regard, seismic data and data from geotechnical studies have been used.
