ABSTRACT
The present study was conducted to investigate the use of pyrolyzed Saragossum algae in adsorption of heavy metals from cadmium and nickel from an aqueous medium, and it was found that pH and temperature have an effective effect on the absorption of nickel and cadmium from algae. In the nickel metal, at the constant temperature of 18 0C, the highest adsorption was measured at pH = 8 (removal of 75% of the metal at a concentration of 0.25 and 0.5 ppm of metal and 79.5% at a concentration of 0.5 and 1 ppm of metal, respectively). This resulted in removal of 79.1% of the metal at a concentration of 0.25 and 0.5 ppm of metal, and 83% of the concentration of 0.5 and 1 ppm of metal, respectively). The comparison of two temperatures showed that the highest adsorption occurred at 25 ° C at both pHs. Also, the results showed that by increasing the concentration of metal from 0.5 to 1 ppm and increasing the biodegradation, the percentage of nickel metal extraction increased. In the case of cadmium metal, pH comparison at two temperatures showed that at 0.5 and 0.5 psi concentration, the metal concentration at pH = 8 (temperature of C180 (removal percentage of metal) was 55.5 and at 25 ° C (58%), and at pH = 6.5 at 25 ° C Removal of metal by 44%) decreased the absorption rate of metal by 0.25 and 0.5 ppm, respectively. That is the result of the photo on the nickel.
INTRODUCTION
The pollution of heavy metals, resulting from industrial activities and technology development, has created serious threats to the environment and public health due to the toxicity of these pollutants, their indissoluble biogenesis and their biosecurity. The global environmental pollution of metals has more than 4,000 times in the past 150 years. When heavy metals come in the state of elemental or organic metal, they can have a significant impact on the health of human societies. Contact with heavy metals can cause neurological disorders, cellular aging, liver and kidney failure and carcinogenesis. Accordingly, heavy metals include cadmium, copper, mercury, lead, nickel and zinc in the list of priority hazardous pollutants. For many years, several methods have been used, such as chemical deposition, ion exchange, distillation, solvent extraction, surface sorption of limestone, application of sand and carbon filters, and … for water purification.
