ABSTRACT
Although the pipeline is the most common gas transmission technology, it is also a problem due to lack of economic justification, especially in long distances. These problems are commonly due to the formation of gas hydrates. To overcome this problem, the study of the cause of the formation of gas hydrates is essential. The present paper discusses the use of the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) method to study the formation of gas hydrates. Using the surface response method, the temperatures of hydrate formation are expressed as a function of molecular pressure and molecular weight. The model predicts accurate results at a temperature range of 260 to 298 degrees Celsius, a gas molecular weight of 16 to 29, and a pressure between 1200 and 40,000 KPa. The model has a high correlation coefficient and the absolute error percentage of the predicted condition is less than 0.029%, which is more accurate than some of the existing models.
INTRODUCTION
Natural gas hydrates are crystalline solids that look like snow and are considered clitoris. The water holes (host), which are bound together by hydrogen bonding between water molecules, trap molecules of low molecular weight molecules into their network. The typical molecules of these gas molecules are smaller compounds than pentane In natural gas such as methane, ethane, propane and carbon dioxide. Gas hydrates are important in gas storage and transfer. Consequently, gas gases can be clogged up in pipelines at higher temperatures than freezing. In 1934, Hammer Schmidt described the cause of blockage of gas pipelines by forming hydrates.
