ABSTRACT
In this paper, a damaged model is presented for modeling the behavior of concrete. In this model, we tried to avoid the defects resulting from the separate application of these models with the combination of damage mechanics and dough theory, while at the same time benefiting from each one’s benefits. In this model, the pulp section is formulated based on effective stress and the damage section is isotropic. The efficiency of the model has been evaluated in a wide range of types of loading, including uniform and reciprocating, and compared with the results of existing experiments.
INTRODUCTION
Evaluation of the condition of concrete structures requires the knowledge of behavioral mechanics and the specific properties of composite materials. The common method for describing the behavior of concrete is to use independent of dough models or damage models. The basic assumption is that the dough models are loaded and reloaded with initial stiffness, and if the nonlinear behavior of the material is due to a mold slip on internal surfaces, mechanical damage is a tool used to describe the behavior of materials. Kachanov was the first to introduce the concept of effective stress to model the failure time under creep conditions. Nonlinear behavior of crude materials such as concrete is created by the onset, growth and interconnection of microstructures. The basic assumption of injury theory is that, with the change in direction for loading, the microcracks are closed and after loading to zero, there will be no residual strain in the material. In the stress-strain curve of concrete under reciprocating loading, simultaneously the phenomenon of hardening and strain reduction of plastics is visible. Dough models alone can not express the hardening of concrete in loading. On the other hand, damage models are not suitable for expressing irreversible changes and non-elastic volumetric expansions. By combining the theory of ductility and mechanical damage and creating harmful models, we try to eliminate the defects of the two categories of the above-mentioned model. In the present article, the combination of isotropic injury mechanics and formulated dough theory in effective stress space have been used to model the behavior of concrete. The model’s efficiency has been evaluated in multiple and multiple loads including uniform and reciprocal and is compared with the results of existing experiments.
