ABSTRACT
When the inflow into the reservoirs, or more concentrated coastal areas, drowns in a place called immersion below its surface, and along the slope of the floor, forms a thick stream of underpasses. In such flows, a constant volume of ambient water enters the inlet flow. Entry of ambient water into the inflow stream is called in the region in the immersion zone of the initial mixing. In this study, the mixing in the dipping region with respect to the change of effective parameters was investigated by a hydraulic model, and a relationship was found for the coefficient of total mixing intensity (total mixing in the body of the high flow and initial mixing). Considering that in the gradient slopes the degree of mixing in the immersion zone is 40 to 42.2 percent and on the steep slopes, it is between 37 and 43 percent of the total mixing. In order to calculate the mixing rate, the use of relationships in which the mixing intensity in the area Immersion is also required.
INTRODUCTION
The flow into reservoirs, lakes or coastal areas often has a different concentration than the water present, this difference in concentration may be due to the presence of soluble materials, suspended particles, temperature differences, or a combination of them. In such cases, the flow of inlet to the balance between the movement size and the pressure created by the difference in the concentration of the two fluids, progresses within the fluid volume of the medium. In the case where the inflow current has a concentration less than that of the medium, it is separated from the floor and as a flow outlet, flows over the fluid surface of the medium, and when it has a greater concentration, it drown below its surface and along the slope of the floor, the flow Concentrates. The inlet area below the surface water is called the immersion site. The flow of fluid before the formation of the underpass or outflow is influenced by the size of the motion and after the immersion is influenced by the floating force. In such flows, the steady volume of ambient water in the transitional zone flows between the affected regions and the floating flow, which is referred to as the initial mixing. It is important to calculate and evaluate the mixing of clear water with the inflow into reservoirs and lakes from the point of view of water quality and prediction of contamination levels.
