ABSTRACT
One of the common problems in hot rolled steel spring springs is the formation of defects of red and crumbling shells. Generally, the formation of oxide shells on the surface of steel during the pre-process is unavoidable. But in spring steel due to the presence of silisium and the formation of the phyalite phase, the adhesion of the oxide shells to the surface and the ability of the crumbling crust These shells are reduced. This phenomenon is exacerbated for ingots that are due to unplanned stops in the furnace. The depleted shells during the rolling process are converted to higher oxides (magnetite and hematite) due to their increased contact with air. Due to the hardness of the base steel due to the pressure of the rollers, the resulting oxides can easily fall into steel flesh. Finally, when the strap reaches the ambient temperature and the ballooning of what is observed on the surface, it is a rugged appearance with topical deformations that can reduce the appearance of the product. In the present study, the causes of crust disability in the oxidation of oxide shells and the reason for exacerbation of this problem in long-term preheating periods are investigated.
INTRODUCTION
Generally, the oxide layer formed by the high temperature proximity to the oxidizing atmosphere can be seen in Fig. 1. Here, what is important is the viscosity layer, and as we see it, the viscosity layer consists of two sub-layers called porosity vestibule (internal) and dense (external) vists. As shown in Fig. 1, the stress distribution in the oxide layer is such that stress in the oxide shell is compressive and in the base metal is tensile. Also, if the oxide shell in comparison with the base metal has a negligible thickness, the stress distribution in the oxide shell will be uniform.
