ABSTRACT
Dynamic Analysis of Elastic Two-Dimensional Problems Using Isogeometric Method and Comparison of it with Finite Element Method is the subject of this paper. For this purpose, we have obtained the formulation of the governing differential equation using the spline basis functions. By drawing two examples, in which matrixes of compatible and focused masses are used, we compare the solutions of finite element and isogeometric finite element methods. In addition, since we have used the Newark method in the transient dynamic analysis, we influence the parameters of α and γ on solving the problem of payments.
INTRODUCTION
Today, the analysis of issues that confront engineers and researchers requires them to solve equations that are often in a differential form. In most cases, solving these equations is not feasible by analytical methods. Inevitably, numerical methods such as finite difference method (FDM), finite element method (FEM), finite element method (FPM) method and more recent methods such as isogeometric analysis method ( IAM). These methods follow each other and pursue two main goals. These goals are, firstly, to increase efficiency, accuracy and speed, and, secondly, to create new possibilities for solving problems and fixing the problems of the previous methods. The use of finite element method in the analysis of complex structures and computational mechanics has become commonplace. It can be said that the development of this method in recent years and the existence of numerous commercial software has led to the extensive application of this method in various sciences, including in computational structures and mechanics. But it should be noted that the major causes of the use of this method are the important advantages, such as the systematic nature of the finite element method in finding approximating functions, complex modeling, the ability to convert algorithms and computer codes, and the rapid advancement of computers. But the finite element method also has some disadvantages, including the complete incom patibility of the analysis model, ie the finite element network, with the desired geometry and the resulting error. Also, the cost and time for the proper networking is one of the problems of the finite element method. It is said that on average, to solve a finite element problem, about 80% of the problem solving time is spent on the production of finite element networks.
